Keep Calm and Yoga- Why Yoga? Sweat Cardio Motivation

Yoga clears the mind, restores your soul, strengthens your core, lengthens your muscles, regenerates your cells, recirculates your blood and simply said, makes you feel good!
There are so many forms of yoga. Hot Yoga, Vinyasa Flow, Power Flow, Hatha, Yin, Bootie Camp Yoga and so many more. But whatever style you choose to do, one or all, it will make you feel amazing.
If you have a good instructor, which is what you will find at Sweat Cardio and Yoga, they will be able to show you modifications for every move. Therefore, any class will be an All Level class. Your instructor should be able to help you with form and technique throughout the class. Beginner or advanced, you will be able to practice yoga at your own speed level.
Check out our class schedule at www.sweatcardio.com   of our yoga classes and more.

Pat Yourself On the Back- Daily Motivation

In our world, it is sometimes shunned upon to be confident and proud of yourself for your accomplishments. It is considered conceded or arrogant. But it should be quite the opposite. Everyone should be proud of who they are. Everyone should acknowledge their accomplishments and successes and give yourself a pat on the back. Walk with your head high, but still looking ahead. Excude your confidence and people will gravitate to you. There is a difference between confident and cockey. Make sure you are the latter.
Give yourself the high five and move on!
You should be proud of who you are and what you work hard for!!

It's Not Easy, But It's Worth It. Daily Motivation

Hard work is called hard for a reason, but it doesn't mean that you don't do it because of its true meaning. If it was easy, everyone would do it!!  Everyone would be healthy, fit and successful, but its the strong willed, the determined, the fighters that work hard to achieve their goals.
YOU ARE THAT PERSON!
Get out there and make it happen!! If it is fitness that is hard to stick with, find a partner to motivate you. Take a class that the instructor motivates you. Find a stranger in class, that has a story that motivates you. Right affirmations and place them around your house, car, work place and remind yourself that you can do anything if you put your heart and mind to it. Buy healthy foods so you are not tempting to snack late nights. Buddy with your significant other or a friend to help each other when you are tempted to do so.
IT IS WORTH IT!

Daily Motivation

Whatever your motivation is...use it, remember it, write it down, post it all over your house, at your workplace, put a reminder on your wrist. Be creative and make it fun. You have the power to achieve greatness. You have the power to achieve your goals.
Make fitness fun by trying new things. There are so many options for people. If you love to dance, take Zumba, Hip Hop Hustle or Zumba Tone. Barre Sculpt is another way to feel a smooth rhythm while sculpting your buns to tightness.
If you like a more structured fitness routine, try Kettlebell, Sculpting classes or Bootcamp or RIPPED. If you like to do a more relaxed form of workout, yet want a great sculpting and stretching class, try Pilates, Bootie Camp Yoga or any form of Yoga.
There are so many to choose from. The hardest part is deciding which one to do. Try them all and see what works best for you.

A limitation is only an excuse- Daily Fitness Motivation

We all have limitations. One kind or another. Its what you do to overcome it, or get around it, or use it to your advantage that makes us stronger. Believe in yourself and do what it takes to get to your goals.
I want to tell you a story a client told me the other day..
She went to the Survivor Mud Run in Lake Elsinore last year which is a very intense 5k/10k obstacle course style race. It isn't for the weary. It isn't even for the average 5k runner. This race if for the hardcore. She wasn't sure if she was going to enter the race because she heard how hard it was. I didn't mention that she went to watch last year, but not race.
She decided this year to enter the race because she saw not one, but multiple people hustling through this treacherous race with prosthetics. She was still thinking "I'm just not that tough." Till she saw a team of 2 in the middle of the pack.  This was a team with 2 people and only 2 legs. One of the teammates was missing both of his legs. During all the obstacles he used his upper body and made it over every leap and bound, during the run section he was carried on piggy back. This changed my clients mind, and said that if that guy can do it "I should have no excuse."
This is a story about a women with fears and a man that showed her that there is NO EXCUSE not to do something that you want to do!
My client is entered to do this race March 2013 when it comes back to Lake Elsinore.
If you are interested in this race check out  www.survivormudrun.com for more information.

It's Not a Diet It's a Lifestyle Change Daily Motivation

When we say "diet", we do not mean diet as in cut a ton of calories so you can barely function, exercise till you faint, lose a bunch of weight, mess up your metabolism and then gain it all back!!
We mean change your eating habits to healthy clean foods that make you have energy, burn fat, give you the endorphins and confidence to work out hard, lose the weight, increase your metabolism so you can enjoy a few extra calories, so you can exercise to make you strong, healthy, body and mind confident and keep off your weight  for good lifestyle change!!!
It is definitely a way of life.
It doesn't have to start drastic. Start by being more conscious of your sugar intake, or your flour intake. Or start by having a treat after one meal twice a week instead of every night after dinner. Start with one glass of wine with dinner instead of one while making dinner, one during dinner and one after dinner. By cutting out only 300 calories a day from your diet you can lose up to 3/4 lb a week without barely trying. 300 calories is 1 glass of wine, or 1 1/2 slices of bread. Plus exercise for one hour a day and burn another 300 calories and you can lose 1 pound a week by barely changing your lifestyle.
3500 calories is a pound of fat. So if you can burn 3500 calories a week, that is burn plus take out calories from your weekly intake, you can lose 1 pound a week.
It may not be as simple as that to everyone, but it can save your life. You may not even need to lose "weight", but you may need to change your body composition. Meaning your body fat percentage may need to go down. Or you may be happy with your body, but eating healthier will not only give you physical changes, but give you mental and energy changes.
Everyone should treat their bodies like its the only one they have!
Make the lifestyle change.

Zumba Fitness Dance Cardio

Zumba is the biggest craze in cardio fitness classes! You can shake, swivel, loosen up, sweat and feel great all the while getting a great workout. Zumba is a combination of various latin dances mixed with instructors style, some add a little hip hop to it, choreographed to individual songs. Each song has its own routine. Some come in to Zumba thinking they can not dance, or "move like that", but they always leave thinking how much fun they just had! Nobody cares what the other person looks like, because they are feeling the same exact way. Just have FUN!
At Sweat Cardio, we have Zumba Glow! , which is done in a party atmosphere. We turn down the lights, turn up the disco balls, add some Glow in the dark jewelry and clothing and get our ZUMBA on!! This class is featured on Tuesday nights at 7:45p with Kim Sullivan.
We even have Zumba Xtreme on Friday nights at 6:45p with Vanessa Medrano. This class is a 75 minute Zumba class mixed with a little sculpting and abs at the end.
Lupita Villagras also teaches an electrifying Zumba Class on Saturdays at 9:30a. She lights up the room with her smile and high energy routine. You can dance the mamba, the shakey shakey or the grind, and more! It's all in there!
Come enjoy your first or your 100th Zumba Class at Sweat Cardio. You will love it!!
Exercising with a friend makes it even more fun!

No Workout = Bad Workout Daily Motivation

The only bad workout is the one that didn't happen..We may feel better in bed, or sitting on the couch, during that one or 2 hour time period, but you will feel so much better for the future if you get up and get moving. A light workout is better than no workout. Get out and do something. There will be days that you do NOT want to go to the gym, take a class, go for a walk, train like a warrior, stretch your muscles, shake your groove thing, but you tell yourself you do anyway, and you DO IT!  You will feel so much better and you will never regret it after.

It's all in Your Head Make a Goal - Daily Motivation

It's all in YOUR head! Your body can do it! We just need to tell our body that! It is true that positive affirmation and positive attitude will drive you to do anything!! Tell yourself you can do it and you can. Tell yourself you can't and you won't! You choose!! The latter being the best!!
We need to surround ourselves with positive people as well. The more support you have the more you will be successful. If you feel like you are constantly around people that are not encouraging and motivating, move on. Surround yourself with people with like minded goals, attitudes and aspirations and you WILL SUCCEED!
Put sticky notes with positive words, quotes or pictures around your house, workplace, car, wallet or anywhere else you frequently look or go to remind yourself of your goal.
Believe in YOURSELF! Your body can do it! Show yourself how strong you are. Tell yourself how strong you are. No matter what it is, YOU CAN DO IT!
Go do it!! You can do it!!

Work that sweat out!! Push yourself to Sweat! Give it all you Got! The More you Sweat Now, the Less Jiggle Later!!
There may be days we don't want to Sweat, especially on a day like today when it is 100 degrees outside and 40% humidity (in Southern California), but think of it this way....You are already Sweaty so you might as well take advantage of it and workout all your toxins. Your muscles are already warm. Just make sure to drink ample amounts of water to prevent dehydration, exhaustion, or even overheating. Getting the Most of Your Bootcamp Class

Bootcamp classes are every where. Its a good name for a fitness class that incorporates all types of training. Cardio training, power moves, strength training, functional training and interval training all mixed into one. You may see lots of pushups, jump ropes, weights, kettlebells, ropes, tires, bands, sprints and other gadgets to make bootcamp a more interesting variation of a workout. Make sure that whatever bootcamp class you are taking that your instructor is well versed in body alignment, anatomy, physiology and kinesiology. While some may think bootcamp classes are just another workout, they may be a little strenuous on the body. They are fast moving, but should have a smooth transition and flow to each exercise. There should be a cohesive combination of all body parts used so that one muscle isn't over worked or fatigued more than another. Bootcamps should push you to your limits, but make you feel comfortable and practice safe technique. If something is bothering you or you are not comfortable, your instructor should be able to give you a modification for that exercise. Your instructor should welcome new comers and be able to accomodate for all fitness levels.
You may have heard of the all popular Crossfit classes popping up everywhere as well. These are very intense Bootcamp classes, which are for the fit person. Crossfit is great for the person that is looking for the over the top push the limit workout. It is a great workout for a short period of time, but should be incorporated with other workouts to prevent injury. It is very hard on the body, yet it is definitely a good workout.
You may see personal trainers arranging groups for bootcamp classes or open to public group bootcamp classes. Some places charge hundreds of dollars for the same workout. Know your instructor and the facility.
Sweat Cardio offers bootcamp classes Wed. 11a and Kettlebell classes that are very similar to bootcamp on Monday 5:30a and Friday 9a and Saturdays 11:30a. Check out the class schedule at www.sweatcardio.com for more info.
No matter where you plan on taking class, your instructor should be warm, welcoming, knowledgeable and motivating.
Stay fit. Be well.

Push to Your Limits (How to Find Your Target Heart Rate) Daily Motivation #6

Daily Motivation #6
If you want to work at 80% of your max to get the most out of your workouts, how do you know what that is, if you have never pushed yourself to your limit. Everyones work load is different. Heart rate is a great indicator of work load, but some bodies can push past the typical mathematical equation of Target heart rate zone= 220-age x (percentage of workload)  This means that if you want to work at 80% of your workload and you are 20 years old (for easier math), you would do:
220-20 x .80= 160. So you would want your heart rate to be at about 160 beat per minute. This is a standard and very effective, but some athletes can go past that and feel amazing and some people that are completely new to fitness or any type of exercise should not get near this number.
Use your body as an indicator as well. Push to your limits at least once to see where you can go and how strong you are. Then work just above your comfort level to get the BEST RESULTS!
Remember: Everyday is a different day. Some days you may wake up and feel wonderful, powerful, stonger, energetic and highly motivated. Other days you may wake up, tired, hungry, unmotivated and lazy, but you still go out there and do your best! You push past the hard days, and the easy days will be even EASIER!!

ZumbAtomic -Fitness For Kids!

ZumbAtomic is a kids version of the biggest craze in fitness Zumba! It is a great way to get kids moving and exercising without forcing them to "exercise". ZumbAtomic incorporates a variety of dance moves and extra activities such as tag, red light green light, to make it FUN for kids to get some exercise.
It is shown that the more active a child is the more focus they will have when it is time to learn. They need to release energy and endorphins in order to concentrate and have mental focus.
In this day in age, when computers and other electronic devices control so much of what our kids are doing, our obesity rate in children is rising rapidly. We need to take action and get our kids moving!!
ZumbAtomic is a great way to do this!!
Come try our ZumbAtomic classes at Sweat Cardio and Yoga on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4:30p.
Bring water and your childs energy and we will do the rest.
It is also a great way to give our parents a small break from entertaining all day long.
We will teach them how to have healthy eating habits and how to use these exercise moves during the day when they are with their friends!!
